A white tomato supplement is an oral carotenoid product, not a whitening agent. Malaysia has around eight of them on shelves and marketplaces. This page sets out who sells what, the four things worth comparing, and where to buy.
01 — The category
In Singapore? White tomato supplements in Singapore, compared — form, dose, delivery and certification, side by side.
What you are actually buying
White tomato is a non-GMO heirloom variety that stays pale because it makes almost no lycopene, carrying two colourless carotenoids instead — phytoene and phytofluene. They absorb ultraviolet rather than visible light. Published human studies on colourless carotenoids report a rise of roughly 10 to 20 percent in the minimal erythema dose, the amount of UV skin tolerates before reddening, over 12 weeks.
That is the whole category. It is a slow change in the skin’s own tolerance, not a bleaching effect, and no white tomato supplement replaces sunscreen.

The brands you will see in Malaysia
These are the products that appear on the first page of Google Malaysia for this term, listed alphabetically. Formats and channels are from each brand’s own public listing, checked on 4 September 2026.

Prices move with promotions, so they are deliberately not listed here — check the seller. What does not move is how each product is formulated, which is the next section.
03 — The comparison that matters
Four things to check before you pay
| Check | Why it decides the answer | Lipo Crystal |
|---|---|---|
| Is the per-serving milligram amount printed? | Ingredients listed without amounts tell you nothing about dose. Watch for a figure given per pack rather than per sachet — 5,600 mg a pack across 14 sachets is 400 mg a serving, and the two numbers read very differently on a label. | 500 mg per 3 g sachet, printed on the carton |
| Standardised extract or dried fruit powder? | Both are legally “white tomato”. The concentrations are not comparable. | Standardised extract |
| Is there a delivery system? | Carotenoids are fat-soluble. Stirred into water with nothing fatty to carry them, most of the dose does not cross the gut wall. | Herbosomal® phospholipid carrier |
| Does the certification name a number, and the testing an institution? | A halal logo can be printed by anyone; a JAKIM reference number can be looked up on the public MYeHALAL portal. “Clinically proven” with nothing behind it is not checkable; a named laboratory is. | JAKIM halal since 2014, ref. JAKIM.700-2/3/1 060-02/2012 — look it up on MYeHALAL; formula laboratory tested at the School of Pharmacy, Lincoln University College |
Apply all four to every brand in the table above. A product that passes all four is a serious product whether or not it is this one. On the brands’ own public listings we could read on 4 September 2026, the first check — a per-serving milligram figure for white tomato extract — was the one most often left unanswered.
04 — Buying in Malaysia
Where to buy, and how to tell it is genuine
Lipo Crystal is sold at bykare.com, at Watsons, Alpro Pharmacy, Caring and Well Pharmacy, R+ Pharmacy and GoodMedic, and through the official stores on Shopee and Lazada. Stock varies from branch to branch; the official site always carries the full range.
Whichever brand you choose, two checks are worth thirty seconds. Look up the halal reference number on myehalal.halal.gov.my — the portal is public and needs no account. And check that the batch number and expiry date are printed on the carton rather than stuck on as a label.

05 — Common questions
What buyers ask
There is no single answer that applies to everyone, but there are four checks that separate a serious product from a vague one: whether the per-serving milligram amount is printed, whether it is a standardised extract rather than dried fruit powder, whether there is a delivery system for a fat-soluble compound, and whether the certification carries a number you can look up. Apply those to every brand on the shelf, including Lipo Crystal.
The evidence is real, and worth stating precisely. Published human studies on colourless carotenoids report roughly a 10 to 20 percent rise in the minimal erythema dose over 12 weeks — that is the skin’s own tolerance to UV, measured over months. It is not a whitening effect, and not a replacement for sunscreen. Anyone promising a visible change in days is selling the promise, not the ingredient.
The research, and exactly what it shows. Aust et al. 2005, Int J Vitam Nutr Res 75(1):54–60 — a 12-week human trial in which tomato-based supplementation raised serum phytoene and phytofluene and cut UV-induced erythema intensity by 38 to 48 percent; the supplements also contained lycopene, and the authors state that phytoene and phytofluene may have contributed to the protection (PubMed). Meléndez-Martínez et al. 2019, Nutrients 11(5):1093 — a review of phytoene and phytofluene in skin (NIH PMC).
Phytoene and phytofluene absorb ultraviolet rather than visible light, which is why the fruit looks white and why the interest is in skin. Taken orally, carotenoids accumulate in skin tissue over weeks and support the skin’s own antioxidant defences. White tomato supplements are food supplements, not medicines, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Most sit somewhere between RM50 and RM200 a box, and the number that matters is the cost per day rather than per box, since the studies run over 12 weeks. Divide the price by the number of sachets before comparing. Current Lipo Crystal prices are on the product page.
Look up the halal reference number on the MYeHALAL portal run by JAKIM — it is open to the public and needs no account, and a record there cannot be faked the way a printed logo can. Then buy from an official channel, and check that the batch number and expiry date are printed on the carton rather than applied as a sticker.
Lipo Crystal is a food supplement, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Results vary between individuals and build gradually. It is not a sunscreen — keep wearing SPF.
The one that prints its dose
Of the checks above, the first is the one most brands leave unanswered. Lipo Crystal states 500 mg per 3 g sachet on the carton, holds JAKIM halal certification since 2014, and is stocked at Watsons, Alpro, Caring and Well, R+ Pharmacy and GoodMedic. RM139 a box, RM6.95 a day — or RM5.00 a day across six boxes.
